The Cathedral

Inaugurated in 1954, the old Estádio da Luz was the fulfillment of a dream for Benfica fans. It earned the name “Cathedral” and, although the origin of the epithet has been lost in time, one thing is certain: the Estádio da Luz is the home of the fans, who fill the stands of the stadium and the pavilions, united by their fervent faith in Benfica, always supporting it.

About the Artist:

Edgar is a poster artist living in Lisbon, Portugal. Movies and illustration art are his biggest passion and he loves to create art for both. It was very obvious that the craft of Movie Posters would be my choice for arts.

Edgar likes to think that his work can offer a fresh take, a conceptual interpretation if you will, of a films’ meaning. Regarding Edgar’s art style, he started with minimal concepts and layouts. Over the years, it has developed to more oneiric illustrations, poetic representations of the film narrative.
