Imperial War Museum

No other museum tells stories that matter more than these. Be part of it.

Imperial War Museums (IWM) was founded in the midst of the First World War with a mission to preserve and tell the stories of all kinds of people from around the world. They continue to do this work right up to present-day conflict, covering over 100 years of experience throughout the Commonwealth.

Their five branches are IWM London, IWM North, IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast. As well as their permanent displays, they have a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, events and educational activities. Their programmes help visitors get close to the lives of those affected by war and develop a deeper understanding of its effect on the world.
